The United States will convene Ukraine and Russia for peace negotiations in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11.
US envoy Steve Witkoff announced the schedule on social media. He listed post-war security agreements, de-escalation, humanitarian measures, and ending the war as the agenda items. This marks the first trilateral meeting since February. The last session occurred before the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran.
Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to represent the United States at the talks. A senior US official confirmed their participation. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the new round after meeting Witkoff in St. Petersburg two weeks ago. That meeting was part of a sustained effort to end Europe's bloodiest conflict since World War II.
American negotiators will also hold working-level sessions in Brussels this week. They will meet with representatives from France, Germany, Britain, the European Union, and NATO. The agenda covers Ukraine's security guarantees, Europe's future security framework, and economic support for reconstruction. The official stated these meetings build on recent discussions and reflect President Trump's efforts to reach a lasting peace agreement.
Ukraine and Russia maintain wide gaps on the terms of any potential deal. President Trump has recently increased pressure on Ukraine to strike an agreement. US negotiators have been seeking a breakthrough before winter sets in. The proximity of the dates to the start of the cold season underscores the urgency of the diplomatic push.
