The Minnesota Class 6A high school football regular season concluded on Friday night.
Roseville claimed the Metro Maroon subdistrict title with a 24-14 win against Coon Rapids. The Raiders finished the season with a 4-4 record, their best mark since 2017. Senior quarterback Chase Browning threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. “It's an amazing feeling,” Browning said. “I don't even have words for it. We've all worked so hard. It's great to see it finally paying off.”
Centennial defeated Anoka 38-6 in a result that likely guarantees the Cougars a No. 3 seed in the playoffs. Anoka’s six points marked the first time this season the team was held to single digits.
Mounds View secured the Metro East subdistrict title by beating White Bear Lake 22-16. The Mustangs trailed by two points before Tanner Jude scored on a one-yard run with 65 seconds remaining. A two-point conversion extended the lead to six. Preston Johnson intercepted a pass on White Bear Lake’s next possession to finish the game. The Mounds View defense limited White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to six completions on 24 attempts.
East Ridge beat Woodbury 42-31, with Logan Tretter rushing for two touchdowns and Elias Mather returning an interception for a late score. Forest Lake’s Mack Jurkovich ran for 245 yards and two touchdowns to lead a 31-13 win over Stillwater. The result locked up a No. 2 seed for the Rangers. Jurkovich, who has committed to St. Thomas, finished the regular season with 1,600 rushing yards.
In the south metro, Lakeville South upset Rosemount 17-14. Sophomore kicker Dylan Nelson hit a 36-yard field goal with one second left. Park’s Manny Vargas scored twice in an 18-10 win over Eastview, catching a touchdown pass and returning a punt 75 yards for a score. The Lakeville South victory complicates the seeding picture for the Class 6A playoffs in that region.
