Leon Bridges released a new song called "Light the Way" on October 30, 2026. The track is the latest single from his fifth studio album, Happiness Anytime. The song marks a shift in his musical style, moving away from the retro-sound he is known for toward a sun-soaked groove.

Bridges began his career in Fort Worth, Texas. He studied dance and performed at open mics before his debut album, Coming Home, gained wide attention. The new project continues his evolution by trading heavy production for organic instrumentation. The album incorporates global dance rhythms and aims for pure momentum.

The production of "Light the Way" involved collaboration with J Lloyd and Lydia Kitto. Both artists are members of the British electronic-soul group Jungle. The track features stripped-down guitar work and warm vocal harmonies. WMNF selected the song as its Song of the Day for the date.

The station described the rhythm as effortless and suitable for listeners seeking a mood lift without complex arrangements. The piece was submitted as a listener suggestion. It represents a continuation of Bridges' effort to broaden his musical palette beyond the strict retro-soul box of his early work.

Fans in the Tampa Bay area can listen to the track on WMNF. The station also promotes local soul, R&B, and live groove showcases in the region. The new album, Happiness Anytime, is now available for streaming and purchase.
