The Art of Elysium announced on Tuesday that legendary rock photographer Henry Diltz will serve as the 2026 Heaven Visionary at its upcoming gala. The event will take place on December 12 at Chaplin Studios in Hollywood.
Diltz has documented major acts in music history, including The Doors, The Eagles, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchell. His images have defined the visual identity of countless album covers, establishing his reputation as a central figure in rock photography.
As part of his role, Diltz will design a temporary art installation intended to last only for the evening. The set will evoke the lush environment of Laurel Canyon and the atmosphere of Woodstock, locations where he captured many of his most famous photographs.
Jennifer Howell, the founder and CEO of The Art of Elysium, described Diltz’s ability to make subjects feel comfortable as central to the organization’s mission. She stated that his work aligns with the group’s goal of bringing artists and communities together to create moments of connection.
The gala is being co-chaired by musicians and industry figures John Mayer, Alix and McG Nichol, Faryal Ganjehei, and Sima Morrison. Actor Elijah Wood and Chris Holmes will perform as DJs for the evening.
Musician Rain Phoenix, sister of Joaquin and River Phoenix, will receive the Spirit of Elysium honor. Funds raised during the event will support the nonprofit’s programs, which assist individuals dealing with illness, isolation, disability, and major life transitions.
