Voters in Hillsborough County, Florida, must travel to their specific precinct location on Tuesday, a requirement that complicates last-minute casting. The county elections office has finished training more than 2,000 poll workers who will staff 232 polling sites across the region.
Craig Latimer, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, stated that clerks are currently picking up supplies needed to run each location on Election Day. He noted that these materials are essential for the sites to operate effectively throughout the day.
The preparation process follows a timeline that began with the distribution of sample ballots to registered voters. Latimer urged residents to review these documents immediately because six amendments are on the ballot. He warned that unprepared voters could spend approximately 30 minutes in privacy booths trying to read and understand the text.
Early voting ends Sunday at 7 p.m. After that time, in-person voters must wait until Tuesday to cast their ballots. Those heading to the polls on Election Day must bring a valid form of identification to be eligible to vote.
The county is now in the final phase of logistical preparation. With the early voting window closing, all 232 sites are set to receive their final equipment and staff assignments before the doors open on Tuesday.
