Thousands of people packed the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach on Friday to support President Donald Trump. The gathering took place with two days left in early voting for the midterm elections. Attendees included long-time locals and visitors who traveled from out of state. Some drove for hours, while others used ride-share apps to avoid traffic.

David Dempster, a supporter from Scotland, drove four hours to reach the venue. He described himself as an American by choice. Dempster said the president is a special man saving the country and the world. He noted that no other candidate had ever inspired him to attend a rally in that manner.

Phyllis Purvis, a supporter present at the event, suggested the location choice reflects the president's connection to Florida. She noted he is from the state and it holds a special place in his heart. Trump has won Florida three times. The last open governor's race in the state in 2018 required a recount due to its closeness.

Craig Gabriel, another attendee, argued the rally aims to maintain momentum. He stated that the party in power often loses when voters stay home. Gabriel stressed that supporters must cast ballots rather than assume victory. The 2018 contest between Byron Donalds and David Jolly remained a focal point for many attendees.

Dissent was visible outside the venue. Michelle Harle used a megaphone to voice opposition. She cited rising gas prices and the war in Iran as primary concerns. Harle criticized the red cap as a symbol of a team, arguing the decade-long slogan had not delivered real benefits for everyone.

Marilyn Silva said she plans to continue backing the president regardless of the election results. She claimed nobody works harder than him. Silva suggested that if Republicans do not secure victory, it is not a reflection of his efforts. She expressed hope that voters would use common sense and support the right candidates.

Florida residents have two remaining days for early voting. Election Day is set for Tuesday.
