North Texas communities have scheduled more than 100 Halloween events for the days leading up to Oct. 31. The lineup spans six cities and includes free family festivals, adult cocktail hours, and historic neighborhood walks. Residents can choose from trick-or-treat routes, carnival rides, and themed dining experiences.

The calendar fills quickly in The Colony. Stewart Creek Park hosts Family Fright Fest on Saturday, Oct. 24. The free event features hayrides, games, crafts, and booth-based trick-or-treating. Truck Yard holds its annual Halloween party the same day. This event takes place at all six Dallas-Fort Worth locations, including the new Richardson outpost. It offers a limited-time spooky drink menu, costume contests, and fortune tellers.

Frisco packs its Saturday schedule with multiple options. The PGA District offers Halloween Par-Tee. Participants enjoy pumpkin putting on The Dance Floor and trick-or-treating from decorated golf carts. The Frisco Heritage Center hosts Heritage Halloween. This event decorates historic buildings and provides hands-on crafts, popcorn, and cotton candy. Frisco Square hosts Trick or Treat the Square from 1 to 4 p.m. This event includes carnival games, inflatables, and horse-drawn wagon rides.

Adults in Frisco can visit the Spookeasy pop-up at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa. It pours themed cocktails such as the Blue Diablo Margarita and Dead Head Punch through Nov. 1. The Star's Little Stars Halloween returns to Tostitos Championship Plaza on Wednesday, Oct. 28. This free morning event targets children ages five and under. Decorated strollers enter a drawing for Nuna treats.

Plano focuses its activities on downtown venues. The Rest in Plano Fest takes over the Downtown Plano Arts District and Haggard Park on Saturday. It features carnival rides, live performances, and themed cocktails from Fillmore Pub. Legacy Hall hosts a free Trick-or-Treatery Halloween Parade on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The event starts with a screening of Hotel Transylvania. It continues with trick-or-treating and a costume parade for kids and pets.

McKinney offers a mix of dining and neighborhood events. The Yard runs Halloween Haunt through Oct. 31. The restaurant serves a seasonal menu that includes the S'mortuary, a vodka-spiked cold brew. Proceeds from this drink benefit Cody's Friends Dog Rescue. The Stix Icehouse holds a free Trunk or Treat with Macaroni Kid on Thursday, Oct. 29. Adults can order the Fridged Witch frozen green apple cocktail there. Kids can sip the nonalcoholic Slimy Slushy.

On Halloween, McKinney hosts the Spooktacular Brews and Boos Walk. Costumed guests receive a signature taster cup and map. They visit more than 20 participating beverage stops in Historic Downtown McKinney. Farther afield, the Fort Worth Zoo runs Boo at the Zoo from Friday through Sunday. Admission covers six treat coupons per ticket or membership. It also includes a pumpkin patch, strolling characters, and a train ride.

Dallas and Celina join the regional celebration. Klyde Warren Park holds its sixth-annual Trick-or-Treating in the Park on Saturday. This free event includes children's book giveaways from Book Drive for Kids. It also features an outdoor screening of Toy Story 5. Downtown Celina hosts Beware! of the Square the same day. This festival offers a haunted manor, a kids' zone, and a pumpkin decorating contest. More than 60 market vendors participate.

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad operates the Witches' Brew Train on Oct. 30 and 31. This two-hour round-trip excursion uses vintage 1920s coaches. It features Texas craft beer and spooky entertainment. Costumes are encouraged for this adults-only outing.
