Marcus Theatres is selling domestic drafts for $5 during the Milwaukee Brewers' World Series run. The price cut applies to game-day deals at participating locations in the Milwaukee area. The chain is also screening two films from 1982, the year the Brewers last reached the World Series.
The Brewers last appeared in the World Series in 1982. Since then, the franchise has not returned to the final series. Jeff Tomachek, president of Marcus Theatres, stated that the company has waited 44 years for this opportunity. He said, "We've been waiting 44 years for a moment like this, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate alongside our Milwaukee community." Tomachek described the theaters as gathering places for fans to watch the team or revisit baseball history.
The promotional package includes specific food and drink prices. Domestic drafts cost $5. Game Time Lemonades are priced at $9. Medium pizzas are available for $10. Appetizers are offered at half price. These deals apply to participating sites. The chain lists Movie Tavern Brookfield, Marcus Majestic Cinema of Brookfield, Marcus Renaissance, Marcus Menomonee Falls, Marcus North Shore Cinema, and Marcus BistroPlex as locations with watch parties. The Wall at Gurnee Cinema is also included for a sports bar experience.
Two documentaries will screen at ten Marcus locations. The films are "UECK" and "Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers." Screenings are scheduled at Marcus Bay Park Cinema in Ashwaubenon, Marcus Green Bay East Cinema in Green Bay, Marcus Hillside Cinema in Delafield, Marcus Hollywood Cinema and Marcus Valley Grand Cinema in Appleton, Marcus Majestic Cinema of Brookfield in Waukesha, Marcus Menomonee Falls Cinema in Menomonee Falls, Marcus Renaissance Cinema in Sturtevant, Marcus Ridge Cinema in New Berlin, Marcus Sheboygan Cinema in Sheboygan, and Marcus South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek.
Members of the Magical Movie Rewards program can earn a free Junior popcorn. To qualify, members must see any movie through Oct. 31. The voucher is redeemable from Nov. 4 through Nov. 24. Non-members can sign up for the program for free before their visit to qualify for the offer.
Ticket information, screening dates, and showtimes are available on the Marcus Theatres website and mobile app. The details were provided in a press release from the company. Fans can watch games on TVs and digital television projectors in the bars and lounges at the listed venues.
The 1982 Brewers won the National League pennant before falling in the World Series. The current team is in the final series for the first time since that run. Marcus Theatres aims to combine the current event with historical retrospectives. The chain has set up the promotions to allow fans to gather in theaters rather than just at home.
