Transportation costs remain a variable for many voters this election cycle. As Tuesday approaches, operators across the region have set specific pricing structures and promotional windows to move riders to polling places.
Metro Transit will waive all fares on regular buses, Access, and MetroNow services for the day. Lime has set a promotion for two free 30-minute rides. Users must enter the code HEADCOUNT in the application to access the discount.
Lyft is capping its subsidy at a $10 savings on a single trip to a polling location. The code VOTE26 unlocks the 50 percent discount. The offer runs from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday. A rider with a $20 fare will pay $10, though the return trip is not covered by the promotion.
Across the river in Northern Kentucky, TANK has adjusted its policy from previous cycles. Rides will cost $2 each way instead of being free. New service schedules take effect this week.
In the surrounding counties, BCRTA fixed routes operate at no cost. Warren County's Lebanon Loop charges a $3 fare each direction. Clermont County has limited options for reaching specific polling sites.
Riders should verify their specific routes and schedules before departing on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
