Tony Gemignani’s pizzeria chain has closed its first Texas location in Frisco. The store at 5995 Preston Road stopped serving customers in mid-October, according to a report by CultureMap Dallas.
A representative for Slice House confirmed the closure to the Houston Chronicle. The company is currently talking with the property manager about the future of the site. Management says it intends to reopen the restaurant, though no specific date has been set.
Gemignani launched the original Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza & Slice House in San Francisco in 2010. The location sat next to his flagship pizzeria, Tony's Pizza Napoletana. The chef has won the World Pizza Championship 13 times.
The Frisco spot opened on January 23, 2026. It served four main styles of pizza: thin-sliced New York, deep-dish Detroit, pan-fried Grandma, and thick Sicilian. The representative said the chain currently operates 38 franchise locations. Another 111 sites are in various stages of development.
The company told fans to watch social media for updates on the Frisco franchise. The representative also stated that Slice House remains committed to opening more locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
