Investigations into illicit gambling operations across Southwest Florida reached a conclusion on Tuesday when state and county authorities executed a series of coordinated search warrants. The joint action by the Lee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and the Florida Gaming Control Commission resulted in ten arrests and the seizure of assets valued at approximately $1.6 million.

Officers targeted five business locations in the Fort Myers area, including The Royal on Palm, 777 Arcade, Spin City, King's Paradise, and Sneaky Pete's Lucky 7. Detectives also served warrants at private residences in Lee County and Mercer, Pennsylvania. The operation followed a lengthy inquiry involving undercover work, surveillance, and financial analysis that traced a money laundering ring from Florida to the Pennsylvania state line.

The physical recovery included 239 illegal slot machines removed from the arcades. Investigators recovered $30,250 in cash directly from the machines at Sneaky Pete's Lucky 7 and 777 Arcade. A search of the Mercer residence uncovered a large safe containing high-value jewelry and U.S. currency linked to the Florida operations. In total, authorities seized $715,272 in currency and $661,454 in gold coins and bars.

Financial assets also included $383,573 in frozen bank accounts. Law enforcement impounded ten vehicles, which included a 2017 Bentley Continental, a 2017 BMW 650i, a 2025 BMW i4, a 2025 Mercedes GLE, and three Cadillac models. The fleet also comprised a 2022 Ford F-250, a 2011 Nissan Armada, and a 2017 Nissan Altima. Officials identified two additional residences for civil forfeiture.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated that the partnership with the Gaming Control Commission allowed investigators to follow the money and target the infrastructure of the operation. "We didn't just target machines; we went after the people, the money, and the infrastructure investigators uncovered," Marceno said. He described the effort as a clear message to those who exploit the community for criminal profit.

Alana Zimmer, Executive Director of the Florida Gaming Control Commission, noted that investigators spent months preparing for the enforcement action. "These arrests send a clear message to criminals that illegal gambling will not be tolerated in Florida: We will find you, take your illegal slot machines and assets, and put you in jail," Zimmer said. The ten individuals arrested were connected to the ownership, financing, management, and operation of the illegal gambling sites.

Authorities have not yet disclosed specific court dates or formal bond amounts for the suspects. Investigators are continuing to review seized bank records and evidence to determine if additional warrants are necessary.
