Residents planning a weekend walk in Ferndale will find six new places to stop. The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce added artists in October whose work stays up through the end of the year. The new stops put Joseph Johnson at Willands Tech Auto, Judy Sturlaugson Art at Leader Block, Rock and Fern Studio at FrinGe Brewing, Senna Zen Art at WaFed Bank, Myron Zorger at It's About Time Cultural Art Center and Ian Styler at Empress Tattoo.
The chamber runs the tour, which it opened in April with an initial group of artists. October's additions mark the second round. The material on display ranges from small charcoal drawings to large, colorful oil pastel paintings.
The existing route continues to include a multi-artist show at Sophia Grace Gallery, John Banasick at The Score Sports Bar and Grill, Kaa Shaayi at Farmer's Insurance, and additional Senna Zen Art work at Valley View Pottery. The chamber asked participants to check business hours before setting out, since each stop operates on its own schedule.
The chamber did not provide dates for when the October artists were installed, nor did it say whether the stops carry inventory or pricing information. Business hours for individual locations are listed by each venue rather than by the tour.
