A cold front will move across Colorado early Saturday, dropping temperatures by 10 to 15 degrees and bringing rain to southern Colorado.
Forecasters expect total rainfall across the region to range from 0.10 inches to 0.75 inches. Winds will strengthen Friday and continue through the weekend, with gusts reaching 40 to 45 mph.
Scattered showers covered the Pikes Peak Region, Pueblo County, and the eastern plains on Thursday evening. Overnight lows for most of southern Colorado are expected to settle in the 40s and 50s. Conditions in the San Juan Mountains and the southwestern corner of the state remain hazardous, with active flood watches, severe thunderstorm watches, and flood warnings in effect.
Friday brings warmer than average temperatures to Colorado Springs, with a low of 51 and a high of 73. A few showers are possible in the morning, followed by a drier afternoon. Pueblo is forecast to reach 81 with on and off showers, while Canon City will hit 75. Woodland Park will stay above seasonal averages with a high of 56. The plains are expected to reach 83, while mountain areas will see a high of 59.
The front arrives Friday night, carrying a new push of moisture into the weekend. This shift will bring cold rain and possibly snow to the area. Heavy rain and flood risks are expected to persist across the San Juans and western slope into Friday and the weekend. Snow levels are likely to drop once the front passes.
Tropical moisture is shifting east, which will add more precipitation to southern Colorado. The extended outlook indicates the area will dry out next week, with temperatures returning to more seasonal levels.
