Five Accessories 9to5Mac Recommends for Apple's New iPhone Duo Foldable

With Apple's first foldable iPhone now on sale, 9to5Mac has picked out a Pencil, chargers, a car mount, cases and home cameras to go with it.

Apple's iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable phone, is now available, and tech site 9to5Mac has put together a list of accessories for early buyers. The picks range from a stylus to security cameras, with a few current discounts noted along the way.

The headline feature is Apple Pencil support, a first for any iPhone. Users will be able to write notes and sketch on both the outer and inner displays. Apple has said the design drew on the proportions of a standard A-series paper notebook. Support is due to arrive next week in the iOS 27.2 update, and only the Apple Pencil (USB-C) will work. It is listed at $69, down from $79.

Fast charging is another selling point. The iPhone Duo can reach 50 percent in about 20 minutes, but only with a suitable power adapter. As with other recent iPhones, the box contains a USB-C cable and no charger. Many owners will have a 20W adapter at home, but 9to5Mac points to Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max, priced at $34 (down from $39), and Anker's 100W USB-C charger with a five-foot cable, at $29.

For drivers, the site suggests ESR's MagSafe Car Mount, which clips to an air vent and holds the phone magnetically. It is $19, down from $29. The writer pairs their iPhone with CarPlay so the map appears on the car's screen while the phone shows step-by-step directions in Apple Maps. They expect that setup to work even better on the Duo's larger display.

Several cases are already on the market. Third-party options include the SPIDERCASE Magnetic Case, which has a built-in stand and screen protector, at $29, and the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro, a clear MagSafe-compatible case, at $39. Apple's own choices are the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand at $129 and the iPhone Duo Case at $79.

The Duo also upgrades StandBy mode. When the phone is standing upright, it can show a range of StandBy views even if it is not charging. Two of them, Home Camera and Home Modular, give access to smart home accessories. Home Camera should suit people who want to check security cameras around the house at a glance. 9to5Mac recommends two HomeKit-compatible models: the Aqara G100 2K camera at $39 and a eufy 4K camera at $69.

As a bonus pick that is not specific to the Duo, the site highlights AirPods Pro 3 for anyone without AirPods or using an older pair. The writer uses them all day and singles out the noise cancellation as a help for focusing at work. They are currently on sale at Amazon for $199, down from $249.

9to5Mac closed by asking readers which iPhone Duo accessories they plan to buy.
